Fatah has strongly condemned Israel for the killing of its top commander, Khalil Makdah, in southern Lebanon on August 21. A senior Fatah official, Tawfik Tirawi, claimed that Makdah’s assassination is an act by Israel to “ignite a regional war.” He said the killing shows Israel’s intent to escalate tensions into a full-scale conflict. Meanwhile, the IDF confirmed carrying out an airstrike near Lebanon’s Sidon that killed Makdah. Watch for more.
