Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Python developer to help complete an open-source project, PyDeskMates. This project aims to recreate the functionality of the classic ‘DeskMates’ software using modern technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with Python, Pygame, and open-source software development.

Responsibilities:
Review the existing codebase to understand the current implementation.
Identify and resolve bugs, particularly related to sprite handling and frame indexing.
Improve the overall code structure and ensure the application runs smoothly.
Implement additional features and functionalities as needed.
Document the code and provide clear instructions for future contributors.
Collaborate with the project owner to understand requirements and deliver on-time.
Requirements:
Proven experience with Python programming.
Strong understanding of Pygame or similar game development libraries.
Experience with open-source projects and version control systems like Git.
Ability to debug complex issues and write clean, maintainable code.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with sprite animations and graphical user interfaces.
Familiarity with other game development frameworks or libraries.
Contributions to other open-source projects.

About the Project:
PyDeskMates is an open-source project inspired by the ‘DeskMates’ software from the 90s. The goal is to bring animated characters to modern desktops using Python and Pygame. We have a basic implementation but need an experienced developer to take it to the next level.

I will only be hiring those who have reviewed the open source codebase and give me a solid quote to finish this project with timeline and cost. Give me your lowest price as I am not looking to hire overly inflated python devs as there are many and Ai has only made it easier to code.

Complete price to finish this code so it is simply working on my desktop with a single avatar and banner for POC.
