Experienced WordPress Developer/Guide Needed for Kadence Child Theme Development

Seeking an experienced WP developer with a strong background in Kadence theme customization and child theme development to serve as a tutor. The ideal candidate will guide the learning process, demonstrate best practices, and provide hands-on instruction in creating, documenting, and packaging Kadence child themes to a developer with mild working knowledge of building WP themes.

Responsibilities:

Provide a structured learning plan tailored to fill gaps in PHP knowledge, specifically applied to WordPress and Kadence theme development.
Demonstrate setting up a local development environment using MAMP and effectively utilizing Visual Studio Code and GitHub for WordPress theme development.
Conduct regular hands-on learning sessions via screen sharing, where you will develop a Kadence child theme from scratch, explaining the process and decisions.
Offer guidance on WordPress best practices, particularly in the context of theme development and PHP coding standards.
Assist in developing a simple Kadence child theme project, providing feedback and code review.
Help create comprehensive documentation for the child theme, including installation, customization guides, and version control.
Qualifications
Proven experience in WordPress theme development, with specific expertise in the Kadence and child themes.
Strong understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript related to WordPress development.
Experience with local development environments (preferably MAMP), Visual Studio Code, and version control using GitHub.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear, concise explanations and instructions.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience in a software development context is highly desirable.

Learning Preference:
The learning format should be interactive, with a preference for working together on a project or shadowing the tutor during the development process. The ability to ask questions, record sessions, and receive direct feedback is essential.
