We are seeking a skilled iOS developer to join our dynamic team on a project basis to enhance the performance of our social app, which is centered around community chat groups. Our app is currently experiencing slow loading times, choppiness, and occasional lagging, particularly in the community chat features built on Google Firebase. We are in the process of migrating chat media (videos, photos, audio messages) to Digital Ocean and require expert assistance to improve overall app performance.
In addition to performance optimization, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing new minor features and addressing existing bugs under the guidance of our lead iOS developer. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a project that is poised for significant growth and to work with a team of passionate professionals dedicated to creating an engaging and seamless user experience.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the lead iOS developer and CTO to identify performance bottlenecks and develop solutions to enhance app speed and responsiveness.
– Develop and integrate new features as per the project roadmap, adhering to best practices in coding and design.
– Identify and fix bugs in collaboration with the QA team to improve overall app stability and user satisfaction.
– Participate in regular team meetings and progress check-ins via Google Meet, Slack, and Trello.
Requirements:
– Proficient in Objective-C and Swift, with a strong portfolio of previous work demonstrating expertise in iOS development.
– Experience with performance optimization for mobile applications, particularly those with significant media content and real-time chat functionalities.
– Familiarity with Google Firebase and Digital Ocean (or similar platforms) for backend and media storage solutions.
– Ability to work under the supervision of a lead developer, with strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
– Proficient in using Slack for communication, Trello for task management, and comfortable with screen sharing on Google Meet for collaborative problem-solving.
– Available to work in the EST time zone (Philadelphia, USA) and fluent in English or Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
