Scenario:
1) a file (like a txt file) is generated in a folder on the local computer. this file is generated either on a local path or a network path (shared drive) (UNC PATH!)
2) the webservice is monitoring this folder and grabs it when it is created, encrypts it and and sends it to the webserver.
3) it can happen that the server is sending back data, so the webservice creates from the data again a file in a folder , so the local installed app can import this reply.
4) the desktop app is used for
* configuring the webservice (listen to which folder, use which path and credentials to read / write)
* visualizing the transfer action protocol
This all works but has issues.
Issue 1) when using a local path everything works fine. when using a remote path where we need to enter username /pass there is currently no feedback if this remote interaction is working with the given credentials. my idea is to add a "test" (create a file in the target folder / delete it again)
the app must be able to use UNC paths
Issue 2) when you install the desktop app first and then the webservice, the webservice deinstalls the desktop app. the installer seem to have an issue (same ID?) – this needs to be fixed.
Issue 3) there is a local file where local configs are saved to (from the GUI) – this file currently lies in a folder where windows only allows admins to write. we should store it somewhere else with lower security so even none admins can write this local config file.
You will get
* access to our git
* get the current webservice installer
* get the current desktop app installer
* a live demo on how this works
