The current site (athleanx.com) will remain live during the design and testing of the new site.

It would be ideal if the existing WP blog articles could be ported over to Shopify as well without losing existing SEO benefits of the pages right now but not sure if this is possible. Wouldn’t want to just pull them in from a feed but rather have them originate from Shopify and let all new posts be created from the Shopify platform. If this is not possible, we could always maintain the existing WP site as a redirect for the blog articles.

1. For the buildout of the new site, we are looking for someone to analyze the existing site in terms of its design and ecommerce framework and then choose the shopify theme that best and most easily supports the site – with least amount of code changes to the theme.

2. During this process, if it is discovered that the way we are currently managing some element of checkout would be made simpler using already existing shopify options or even 3rd party plug-ins, it will be important to note these opportunities.

3. Ultimately, the look and feel of the current website are going to need to be updated and modernized. It is understood that this may begin happening pretty quickly during the conversion to shopify. That said, the intention on the first run of this is to make it as similar as possible to the existing site with again, minimal disruption of the theme so as not to disrupt shopify’s native compatibility and responsiveness.

– Robust shipping business to US and Worldwide with integration to our warehouse using Extensiv software
– One click Postsale Upsells
– Upsells before checkout
– Bundling discounts (discounts grow with increased order total)
– Back end API connection with our custom database that enables and controls access to online workout program portal
– Product assistant quiz that recommends programs based on user answers

To name a few….

Above all, we’re looking for someone that not only is an expert in the shopify platform but also converting custom websites to the platform.

I mentioned in the post that there is an opportunity for longer term engagement for someone that is ideally independent, self motivated and looking to work for a leading fitness brand.
