I am looking for an experienced programmer for the development of a more in depth and customizable version of the old ‘Star Control’ series types of games. Similarly it will be a 2d top down or 2.5d top down combat game with added flare. Cross platform multiplayer capabilities (one to three players per team, two to three teams). A multi game mode capable game (death match only to start) with three different playable sides to select from. Each side has multiple ship types to pick from for a battle, each with it’s own capabilities in battle. Armaments such as weapons, shields, and much more. In addition, the player(s) will be able to have control over their ships in unique ways during battle. They’ll be able to adjust energy and shields dynamically to different parts of the ship (four areas for shields, possibly more for weapons and engines).

Candidates will have the below experience:
Game programming using Game Maker Studio 2, Unity, or similar platform
Experience in developing an online multiplayer game that works across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, etc)
Regular and clear communication expectations following a pre agreed upon timeline for start to finish of the project
Ability to put in placeholder graphics and sounds to finish the development of the game (basic only, graphics and audio will be supplied separately)
Very detailed commenting within code
Simple UI across the game
Project must be delivered in a way where customer can immediately use product for further development as needed
