At the UN Security Council, the UK reaffirmed its strong support for the OSCE and condemned Russia’s violations of the Helsinki Final Act amid the war in Ukraine. London praised recent U.S.–Ukraine diplomatic efforts but warned that peace remains distant while Moscow refuses to negotiate in good faith. In response, Russia’s Deputy Ambassador Dmitry Polyanskiy accused the Finnish OSCE Chairmanship of promoting a biased, anti-Russian agenda and undermining consensus within the organisation. He urged Switzerland, the incoming Chair, to restore balance, protect the principle of indivisible security, and revive the OSCE’s role in Europe’s future stability.
