Global affairs analyst Michael Bociurkiw told CBS News that the Iran war is creating “a lot of anxiety” in Armenia because any further deterioration could send refugees across the Iran-Armenia border, which refugees and asylum seekers can reportedly cross freely. CBS also noted that Armenia, a country of about 2 million, had already absorbed around 120,000 of its own people after last year’s Azerbaijan peace deal, raising concern about how much more strain it could handle if the conflict deepens.
