Russia’s General Prosecutor’s Office has accused former State Duma deputy Magomed Gadzhiev of transferring classified information to the United States in exchange for $45 million. Gadzhiev, a former lawmaker from the ruling United Russia party, allegedly sold the secret intel to unnamed U.S. government agencies, according to a report by RT. In 2023, a leaked video allegedly showed him threatening to reveal Kremlin secrets in exchange for an EU passport. Following the leak, United Russia expelled him from the party for “actions that discredited the party.” He was later designated a “foreign agent” by Russian authorities and added to a national wanted list. Authorities are now seeking to seize his assets and have labeled him an “extremist.” Interestingly, they claim that details of Gadzhiev’s dealings were revealed by “DOGE,” a U.S.-based entity reportedly linked to Elon Musk in the past.
