Israel seems to be stepping up preparations for the next phase of its offensive in Gaza. IDF is reportedly set to mobilize nearly 60,000 reservists ahead of Gaza city ‘occupation’ plan. This comes as reports emerged earlier of an unprecedented call-up of over 400,000 troops by 30 November. Israel Katz made the announcement in an emergency meeting on 19 august, say Israeli media. The meeting was convened after Hamas told mediators it was ready to resume truce negotiations. Reports say the deployment isn’t immediate and the reservists will get 2 weeks to prepare. In parallel, reports say IDF is planning a large-scale evacuation of Gaza city’s over 800,000 residents.
