Ukraine’s 7th Air Assault Corps says the situation northeast of Siversk in Donetsk Oblast is “extremely difficult,” as Russian forces try to expand a bridgehead by repeatedly ferrying troops across the Siverskyi Donets River near Serebrianka and Dronivka. Units of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade report they are holding positions under intense pressure, destroying at least two boats with landing troops in the past two days and warning that Russia’s key goal is to seize Serebrianka and Dronivka as staging areas for further advances toward high ground near Zakytne and Platonivka, which would threaten the wider Siversk defensive belt shielding Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
