Hamas’ military wing al-Qassam brigades attacked Israeli positions in Kerem Shalom after the IDF captured the Rafah crossing from the Gazan side on May 7. Hamas, in a statement, said “Al-Qassam Brigades destroyed enemy forces penetrating east of the Rafah crossing with heavy-calibre mortar shells and bombarded IDF concentrations at the Kerem Shalom Military Base with a 114 mm short-range Rajoom missile system.” The attack triggered a rocket siren warning in Kerem Shalom. Israeli military vehicles are seen driving along the Egypt-Gaza border in the eastern part of Rafah. Watch
