Effie Defrin said Israeli forces had “severely struck the regime,” targeting Iran’s command-and-control nodes, air-defence arrays and missile forces, and claimed that the opening blow eliminated 40 senior commanders in roughly a minute. Defrin said Israeli strikes continued overnight and that the air force is operating around the clock to locate missile-launch infrastructure, claiming dozens of launchers were thwarted before firing. He also acknowledged Israeli casualties from Iranian strikes over the past 24 hours, saying impact sites across the country left civilians injured and that Israel was informed of additional fatalities.
