Russia’s Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, has hit out at ex-U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to penalize India for its oil trade with Russia. In a fiery statement reported by RT News, Alipov slammed Washington’s attempts to undermine Russia-India energy ties, accused the U.S. and Europe of “neocolonial” behavior, and argued such sanctions only highlight American unreliability. Alipov warned that excluding Russian oil from international trade is both impossible and unacceptable for India, stressing that any price hike affects India’s economy and its people’s well-being. He also cited recent Western sanctions on Nayara Energy, a major Indian refiner, as an example of illegitimate and destabilizing tactics. The Ambassador reaffirmed India and Russia’s commitment to their energy partnership and called out the West’s double standards.
