Acrobats, performing breath-taking stunts, were the centre of attraction on the second day of the ‘Rural Olympics’ being organised by the Punjab Government at Kila Raipur village near here. The day also witnessed exciting action in wrestling, with Asian Championships gold medallist Sandeep Mann and National Championships medallists Armaan Preet Singh and Karan Singh winning their bouts.

Kabaddi and hockey matches along with athletics events were also held today. But the group of ‘baazigars’ from Bhagoke village in Ferozepur district stole the show. However, Joginder Singh, head of the team, rued the indifferent attitude of the government towards the acrobats. — Anil Datt
