UX Design for a mobile application for exploring archaeological sites.

Project Overview:

An iOS app to help users discover and explore archaeological sites.

Main Requirements:

– Proven experience in mobile app UX design, particularly for iOS.
– Solid understanding of usability principles applied in mobile contexts.
– Ability to design with user needs and environmental conditions in mind.
– Commitment to simplicity and functionality in design.
– Ideally, familiarity with the Apple Human-Interface Guidelines.

Looking For:

– Someone who appreciates the subtlety of user-centered design and is not inclined to overcomplicate interfaces with unnecessary features.
– A designer who understands that this app is about enhancing the user’s real-world experience, not about keeping them glued to their screens (no gamification, no dark-patterns)
– An individual who recognizes the importance of privacy and user autonomy, hence will not insist on unnecessary logins or accounts when designing the app interface.

Responsibilities:

– Create straightforward, effective designs for varied outdoor use cases (navigating by road, walking across uneven terrain etc.)
– Collaborate with me to refine the user experience based on actual usage and feedback.
– Regularly review and adapt designs to ensure clarity and user-friendliness.

Expected Deliverables:

– Initial wireframes and design justifications.
– High-fidelity UI design, typographic specifications, and color schemes suitable for outdoor viewing.

Note:

This app aims to be a public good and will be free of charge i.e. no monetization related features desired.
