Ayatollah Mohsen Heidari, a member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, has acknowledged that some members were not even told about the key session that elected Mojtaba Khamenei as supreme leader, adding that Mojtaba won “almost 85% of the votes” of those who did attend. This raises fresh questions over transparency and consent inside the only body empowered to choose Iran’s top post.
