Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site of an Iranian missile strike in Beit Shemesh on March 1, where at least nine people were killed in a deadly barrage. Standing amid the damage, Netanyahu drew a sharp distinction between Israel and Iran, declaring: “The tyrants of Tehran target civilians. We target the tyrants of Tehran to protect civilians.” Referring to the ongoing military campaign, dubbed Operation Roaring Lion, Netanyahu said Israel, alongside the United States and President Donald Trump, is acting to thwart what he described as existential threats posed by Iran’s leadership. He warned that if Iran’s regime acquires nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missiles, it would not only endanger Israel and the United States but “threaten all of humanity.”
