Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said his country’s armed forces are not trained to conquer or bomb other nations, criticising Western military war-games during a visit to Macarao. Quoting a song by late Venezuelan singer Ali Primera, Maduro condemned foreign military interventions in countries such as Vietnam, Iraq, Libya and Gaza. He also defended Venezuela’s democratic system, pointing to four citizen consultation processes held in 2025 and claiming the country deserves global recognition for its electoral participation. During the visit, Maduro officially launched the National Planting Plan, which aims to plant 10 million trees by 2026 to restore traditional, fruit and medicinal species and boost sustainable productivity.
