Saudi Arabia deported the highest number of Indian nationals in 2025, overtaking the United States, according to data presented by India’s Ministry of External Affairs in Parliament. Over 24,600 Indians were deported from 81 countries during the year, with Saudi Arabia accounting for more than 11,000 cases. The United States ranked second with around 3,800 deportations, a rise experts link to stricter immigration scrutiny under President Donald Trump. Gulf nations dominated deportation figures due to visa overstays and labour law violations, while Indian students were deported in the highest numbers from the UK. India has also raised concerns with Washington over delays in H-1B visa interviews amid enhanced social media checks.
