A major milestone has been reached at Egypt’s El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant as the reactor vessel — the “heart” of the unit — has been installed. Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev highlighted the reactor vessel’s role in ensuring safe, airtight power generation under high pressure and temperature. Construction across all four units is progressing with 222 critical facilities underway and more than 225,000 workers involved, including 17,000 Egyptians. Egypt’s Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi hailed the project as the world’s largest nuclear development, calling it a turning point for Egypt’s energy future and low-carbon independence.
