China is set to stage a massive ‘victory parade’ at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square on September 3. The parade will mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II when Japanese forces surrendered. The military parade will showcase China’s “never-seen-before” weapons, as per top officials. China’s new fourth-generation equipment will be on “display for the outside world for the first time”. Chinese fighter jets, bombers and ground forces with the latest equipment will also be featured. Meanwhile, ahead of the parade, China has unveiled a next-generation hypersonic cruise missile and a new family of ship-launched hypersonic & supersonic anti-ship missiles designed for vertical launch integration. Analysts say the west will be closely watching China’s expanding suite of missiles.
