Greetings. I’m a long time UpWork user and a software developer myself. I have hired several UpWork software developers previously, both backend and frontend.

My new project, SocialPredict, is designed to leverage community insights for forecasting events across various domains. I’m looking to refine the user experience, and seeking a skilled React Developer to help.

I’m looking for a React Developer with a keen eye for design and a passion for building scalable, efficient, and user-friendly web applications that anyone can deploy. Enhancing the functionality and aesthetic of our prediction markets platform are a must…since I’m not that great at it myself.

As far as the project budget, it’s fairly small right now but will grow over time. I’m really looking for more of a, "react advise giver," to start off with, while I continue to code, with some occasional contributions, and over time, someone who can actually write code and build the platform.

TASKS:

Collaborate with the team to refine and implement the vision for the platform’s UI/UX, as outlined in our forthcoming Figma guide.
Evaluate and integrate modern React practices and tools to improve development efficiency and product quality.
Advise on and assist with the refactoring of the codebase, ensuring best practices in code organization and design patterns are followed.
Optimize the platform for performance, scalability, and future development.
Contribute to the enhancement of trading functionality, user profiles, and other key features, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Assist in identifying and selecting appropriate plugins and tools to enhance platform functionality.

LOOSE REQUIREMENTS

Proficient in React and familiar with the latest web standards, including ES6+, CSS3, and HTML5.
Experience with UI/UX design and a portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of design principles.
Strong knowledge of modern React practices, including hooks, context, and the React lifecycle.
Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
Familiarity with code refactoring and architectural design patterns.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to take initiative and work in a dynamic startup environment.
Prior experience contributing to or managing open-source projects.
Familiarity with prediction markets or financial trading platforms.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools.

Hourly Range: $15.00-$30.00
