Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group launched a massive retaliatory strike after the Israeli military targeted over 10 villages in southern Lebanon on August 22. Hezbollah claimed to have attacked a number of strategic Israeli military positions in the northern part of the country by launching “squadrons of attack drones” and “heavy artillery shells.” Hezbollah said it targeted Branit barracks, Kiryat Shmona settlement, and al-Alam site of the Israeli Defence Forces.
