Hamas on August 6 announced a new interim leader days after Ismail Haniyeh’s death. Hamas named Mohammed Ismail Darwish as the group’s new leader, as per Al-Arabiya. The report said Darwish will lead Hamas’ political unit until new elections are held. Darwish, also known as ‘Abu Omar Hassan’, reportedly lives in Qatar currently. Watch for more.
