Hello! We are ShowOps and we’re looking to hire a senior front end engineer to help build version 2 of our live event software. Our platform is built to support all aspects of live events including booking, ticketing, advancing and more. We are NOT an audio or video streaming platform. Our first version has taken us far and we’ve seen great success and growth in our markets and we’re now looking to build on that success and create a second version of our front end.

We’re looking for a few different qualities in our next hire! In particular, we’re looking for front end experts with experience in React and Next.js. Experience in the music industry is a plus but not required. We’re looking to hire full time or close to full time (expect 30-40 hours per week).

Requirements
– 3-10 years experience as a front end engineer
– Expert in javascript, typescript, and React
– Significant experience in Next.js
– Must be willing to work IST hours (our existing dev team is based in India and Pakistan)
– Excellent communication skills, especially with offline / async communication such as video recordings / explanations and written communications like slack
– Experience writing technical specifications and documentation
– Experience with writing front end tests and using test frameworks
– Experience working with designers and working towards "pixel perfection"
– We are willing to adjust our pay scale according to your experience

Nice to have qualities
– Experience leading a team as a front end engineer
– Experience with sprints, tickets and other agile-adjacent methodologies
– Experience working with Figma

Hiring Process
In total, you can expect our hiring process to take 2-3 weeks from start to finish. This may be expedited depending on how your interviews are scheduled. In general, we are flexible with scheduling times, so the process may go faster if you decide to move quickly!

Our hiring process is split into a few steps. To being, you will be asked to submit a proposal and answer a few questions. You may be asked followup questions based on your proposal. If we like your proposal, you’ll move to the "virtual onsite" portion of the process, which will consist of the following steps:

– Interview with our head of product, Sarah. This interview should take no more than 40 minutes.
-After passing an interview with Sarah, you will be asked to complete a technical "take home project". You will be provided with an engineering and design specification for this project and you will be asked to code and deploy your solution. The project should take you between 2-6 hours of time. The project is NOT paid and is not a real project that we will be using in production. It is a made up project created only to evaluate engineering candidates. The project is meant to test your ability to write production ready code and is meant to be a close replica of your day to day work at ShowOps. You will also be asked to record a screen share video demo of your project to demonstrate your communication skills (no more than 5 minutes screenshare). You will have 1 week to complete your project.
– Your code will be evaluated by our engineering lead and CTO, Kevin. If we like your project, you’ll move to the next step, which is a technical interview with our engineering lead and CTO. This interview should take no more than 45 minutes.
– After passing an interview with our engineering lead and Kevin, you may be asked to set up a short call with our founder, Jason. This will likely depend on his travel schedule and availability when we reach this point.
– Final step – you’re hired!

We will not accept:
– Engineers that work for an agency. You must be a solo freelancer and looking for a full time opportunity.
