Project Overview:
We’re developing a web application for a child care center that allows parents to check their children in upon arrival and staff to log their work hours. The app aims to streamline the check-in process, enhance security, provide a user-friendly interface for parents and staff, and manage staff attendance.

Key Features:
1. Secure login system for parents and staff
2. Child check-in/check-out functionality
3. Staff check-in/check-out with time tracking
4. Real-time attendance tracking for children and staff
5. Parent profile management
6. Staff dashboard for monitoring child check-ins and managing personal time logs
7. Admin dashboard for overseeing all check-ins and staff hours
8. Notification system for important updates
9. Reporting tools for staff hours and child attendance

Technical Stack:
– Frontend: Next.js
– Backend: Next.js API routes
– Database: PostgreSQL (maybe turso SQLite??)
– ORM: Drizzle
– Authentication: Lucia Auth
– UI Components: shadcn/ui
– Deployment: Vercel

Developer Requirements:
– Strong experience with React and Next.js
– Familiarity with server-side rendering and API routes in Next.js
– Knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience with Drizzle ORM
– Understanding of authentication implementation, specifically with Lucia Auth
– Experience with shadcn/ui or similar component libraries
– Ability to implement secure and scalable solutions
– Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first approaches
– Experience in developing time tracking systems and generating reports

Project Scope:
The initial phase will focus on core functionality, including user authentication, check-in/check-out features for both children and staff, time tracking for staff, and basic reporting. Future phases may include additional features such as billing integration, advanced scheduling tools, or activity logging.
