adminKey Responsibilities:
1. Landing Page Development: Develop and design a user-friendly and visually appealing landing page using WordPress.
2. JPEG Processing: Implement a system to process the JPEG images that we upload multiple times a day to the web server. This includes cropping, resizing, and adjusting the images according to our specifications.
3. Sunset Detection Feature: Develop a simple API call to determine and display whether there will be a sunset on that day. The result of the API call should be either “Yes, there will be a sunset” or “No, there won’t be a sunset today.” Based on this result, a different button with a unique link, target, and text should be displayed. This API will be integrated with Home Assistant.
4. Server and WordPress Setup: Ensure WordPress is properly initialized, SSL encryption is enabled, and the website works with WordPress blocks. Avoid additional themes or plugins unless approved by us.
5. GDPR Compliance: Ensure the website is GDPR-compliant, including a dedicated data protection page and an imprint (Impressum) page.
Additional Requirements:
• Project Management: The developer is expected to manage the project, including setting up a questions catalog (e.g., in Google Docs) to gather all necessary information from us.
• Regular Updates: Provide regular progress updates and maintain open communication throughout the project.
• We use 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 for video calls and general communication.
• Documentation: Deliver clear and detailed project documentation, especially regarding the API integration and JPEG processing.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in WordPress development and design.
• Proficiency in setting up and configuring WordPress, including SSL encryption.
• Experience with API development and integration.
• Strong skills in image processing and automation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills for regular updates and discussions.
• Knowledge of GDPR requirements and compliance measures.
Work Expectations:
• Access credentials for the web server will be provided by us.
• WordPress will be pre-installed; the developer must ensure it is properly set up and functioning.
• Use of WordPress blocks is required; additional themes or plugins should be used only with our approval.
• Ensure the website includes a data protection page and an imprint page to meet GDPR compliance.
• Flexible deadlines but consistent progress updates.
• Regular communication to discuss any issues or changes.
Compensation:
• Hourly rate based on the hours logged in the Upwork time tracker.
Additional Information:
This project serves as a test. If the collaboration is successful, there will be further website projects to work on together.
