Books are the foundation of civilization: they develop reason, empathy and imagination. When society’s sources of education fail (parents, peers, schools, media), books are the last hope for liberation from ignorance! The decline of institutional communities (e.g. religious sanctuaries), have left people lacking community, purpose, and hope.

The public library can be the public square to be the "third room", hosting events, classes, and social gatherings. As users engage in the platform, recommendations bring them content (e.g. Netflix), community (e.g. Reddit), and events (e.g. EventBrite/Meetup); bringing like-minded neighbors together into in-person community.

The user experience must be radically compelling, exceptionally gamified. As users engage with the platform, they are granted points and rewards (a’la Reddit gold) leading to higher levels of special privileges and ultimately philanthropic support.
