We are seeking an experienced WordPress web designer to assist with a fast-turnaround, simple website project. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of web design principles and be able to create visually appealing and user-friendly websites.

The main responsibilities will include designing the website layout, selecting and customizing WordPress themes, and possibly integrating plugins and widgets. The candidate should also possess excellent communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively with the project lead (and possibly the project coordinator/administrator) to ensure a smooth workflow.  

The project is scheduled to start on Monday, July 15, and conclude with completion of a "good enough" website on Tuesday, July 16, or Wednesday, July 17, at the latest. We may request (a)  light-touch revisions of a few web pages or (b) minor touch-ups and changes in the following days.

It’s crucial that the website be set up in a self-hosted WordPress staging site that supports transfer. We will later transfer it to SiteGround.

This site serves as a template for what we are seeking: https://events.sankalpforum.com/event/bdf469d3-4cfb-42b7-b8c4-2d6337018cb0/summary  . Except our site will be much simpler – scaled down to about half of the content on the Sankalp website. Also, the Sankalp website is about a single conference. By contrast, our website, while simpler, will be about 6 facets of a single initiative.  (Slides 10-11 of this deck (https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/14YszAqfeC-ZAttOJMUA8nUCx4n5Fr1yk8yEIapaL40g/edit?usp=sharing) describe 5 of the facets: (1) a conference,, (2) Call for Articles, (3) Revolutionary Networking Platform, (4) Map Existing Initiatives, (5) Learning & Innovation Hubs. The 6th is a series of pre-conference webinars. [Flyers exist for the webinars. Most have already happened. 2-3  webinars remain. This will be a simple section describing the webinar series, providing links to all flyers and buttons to direct viewers to sign-up info for the remaining ones.])

In order to be in time zones  within up to 4 hours of us, we are seeking web designers within the Americas.

If at all possible, please specify a range of how many hours you think it would take to design a website with about half the content of the Sankalp one. (We have about one-quarter of the graphics and images. You would need to suggest free or paid stick images for the rest.)

Hourly Range: $25.00-$30.00
