PROJECT OVERVIEW
We’re a research lab seeking a Laravel developer to refine our existing app built with the White Dashboard PRO Laravel template from Creative-Tim. The app guides users through a 7-step selection process, integrating with ElasticSearch and BigQuery. This app addresses real-world problems and is developed as part of our research initiatives.

CURRENT PROJECT DETAILS
– Framework: Laravel with White Dashboard PRO Laravel template

– Current Status: Basic framework and logic are in place, integrations complete
– Key Integrations: ElasticSearch and BigQuery
– Primary Need: UI/UX improvements and simplification
– Budget Range: $500-$1000 (lower end for minimum viability, higher end for more sophisticated solutions)
– Access: Developer will be provided with GitHub access to the current codebase

REQUIREMENTS
1. Implement a wizard form or workflow for the following user selection process:
   – Step 1: User enters text about an area of interest
   – Step 2: System performs search against ElasticSearch index
   – Step 3: User confirms relevant documents
   – Step 4: System finds relevant clusters in BigQuery table
   – Step 5: User selects features they care most about from a limited selection set. These selections will recalculate cluster relevance on the fly by adding/removing the indicator(s) from a scoring calculation (calculation already defined)
   – Step 6: User selects 3 clusters
   – Step 7: System presents tabbed dashboard with intelligence about each selection
2. Display horizontal tabs properly in the wizard form
3. Simplify the codebase by removing unnecessary features and styles
4. Add a horizontal tab pane on the final page for chart display

CURRENT CHALLENGES

PROJECT SCOPE
– Focus is on refining and simplifying the existing template
– Implement dynamic feature selection and cluster relevance recalculation
– No new features or functionality required beyond specified workflow
– Estimated project size: Small to medium (similar to making minor tweaks to an existing product)

COLLABORATION APPROACH
– We can provide detailed specification documents
– Available for frequent meetings as needed
– Understanding of software development realities and aim to avoid scope creep
– GitHub access will be provided for direct work on the codebase

IDEAL CANDIDATE
– Experienced with Laravel and Creative-Tim templates
– Strong UI/UX skills
– Able to simplify and optimize existing codebases
– Comfortable with iterative development and client feedback
– Familiar with GitHub for collaborative development
– Experience with dynamic data recalculation and display

GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS
Due to the nature of our work, we are currently unable to work with teams or individuals based in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, or Syria. Please only apply if you are not operating from these countries.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
– Multiple web app projects expected over the next 12 months
– Project scales will vary widely, from small $250 Python scripts to larger engagements up to $50,000
– Teams may be required to sign an NDA for some projects
– Some future jobs may only be available for teams working in NATO or ANZUS member countries
– Seeking potential long-term partnerships with experienced teams
