Would like to discuss with Australian based Mobile App developers the best way to create a Mobile App that can work with an existing business process that captures Farm information.

The App would be used by Farms to input related Farm details and then synch back to a central copy of the Farms information.

Here is a brief description of what we are looking to create and would like to discuss with the applicant how they believe this could be delivered.

The current solution is developed within an Excel workbook that is used to create and maintain details about a Farm Nutrient budget and recommendations. The Excel workbook can produce an export of data that describes the planned Nutrient budget for a year across a farm. That data could be stored somewhere centrally that could be accessed by a Farmer.

We would like to build a Mobile App that could be downloaded from the iOS and Android stores that would be able to retrieve that exported data and then display details to the Farmer. As part of the App the Farm could update that data with Actual Nutrient information. Once complete or whenever needed the Farm could upload the data back to the central store.

Once uploaded to the central store the existing process would then "synch" that entered data into Farm’s details and then use that for reporting.

The key aspect of the Mobile App that I am keen to see is possible is the ability for a Mobile App to operate of a set of data that is Uploaded via the App and then stored on the device for the user to work with, before "sending" that data back to the central store for "synch" with the existing information.

We are interested in this approach rather than a Database to reduce the infrastructure involved and essentially separate the Mobile App from the central application.

So the question is this possible and if so are you interested in working through the details on this project with me to create a proposal that I can then get approved by my client.
