Iranian military sent a message to newly-elected president Masoud Pezeshkian on July 7. Chief of Staff of Iran’s armed forces, Major General Baqeri, said the army is ‘ready to cooperate’ with the new government. A similar message was issued by an Iranian army chief commander, Major General Mousavi. The military messages appeared to contain a military warning. The statement of ‘readiness to cooperate’ suggested the military’s choice not to do so in the future.
