Key Requirements:
1. Unreal Engine Development:
o Develop the game using Unreal Engine, ensuring modularity for easy future updates and modifications.
o Game set up will consist of PCVR servers and wireless HMDs using a streaming solution based on SteamVR. The application should be agnostic to which type of HMD is used as the client(s).
2. Networked Multiplayer Logic:
o Implement multiplayer logic that assumes players are on the same network.
o Players should appear in each other’s views as simple avatars (head and hands only).
3. Physical Space Coordination:
o The game should assume that all players are located in the same physical space with HMDs calibrated to the same origin.
o Ensure the game’s map is anchored to the player’s origin pose, not the pose at game launch, to maintain a consistent coordinate system for all players.
o This is a free roaming experience. No teleportation is permitted.
4. Player Capacity:
o Support an arbitrary number of players.
o There should be a master user which coordinates start and stop of play.
5. Content Authoring:
o Create a splash screen for the game.
o Develop a timer visible to all players.
o Design information cards that appear in front of each player at the beginning of the game with custom text to be inserted later.
o Implement an end-of-game screen that appears for each player and can only be reset on the master machine.
Timeline and Budget:
• Timeline: The project must be completed within 3 weeks.
o We expect to receive weekly drops of content via GitLab, which we will play test and fork to add our assets. These assets will not be shared with the developer, so the implementation must be modular.
• Budget: The budget for this project is $2,000, with some flexibility for negotiation based on the developer’s experience and proposed timeline.
Additional Information:
• All digital assets will be inserted by the purchasing company after the source code is delivered and tested.
• The source code and all related files will be the property of the purchasing company and will not be shared with the developer.
