adminA few years ago I had a stellar dev create all of these sites, but then he took a different job and wouldn’t continue support. Then I hired a new company that performed well, but eventually I think became too busy and it takes weeks to hear back from them for any requests, they haven’t made progress on any of the issues in many months.
Right now I have no desire to add more sites or more MLS systems, etc. I want to get the sites that we have working perfectly.
TECH STACK SUMMARY:
The sites are each connected to 1 or 2 MLS systems in Oregon or Washington: RMLS, WVMLS, MLSCO, and NWMLS. Sometimes the MLS systems change their API database feed and those changes need some work to be done to display properly on the website so we stay in compliance with them.
They are hosted on Cloudways – and this needs some optimization as they often run high resources and slow down, but needs to be balanced with a reasonable monthly service cost, we’re currently paying around $350 a month. These are heavy-duty websites, take a lot of processing power to run. If it helped I wouldn’t mind moving from this hosting service. We are sending short email campaigns using their serving add ons.
We are also using Twilio to send a few SMS messages (not many).
The domains are hosted with Cloudflare.
The WP sites have Google and Facebook login options and Linkedin (which is currently broken and needs to be removed or fixed).
We are using AWS to help host all of the photos I believe, I have an account there I’m paying monthly.
Of course we have a Google Maps account to serve the home search map feature.
CURRENT FIXES NEEDED
We have a list of current fixes that are needed on the site and a list of future enhancements we are considering – if we can get through the fixes first.
ONGOING SUPPORT AND MONITORING
I need someone to watch over the site and be able to tell when something is broken (not just finding that out myself through user complaints).
LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP
I’m hoping to stay with the same dev for a long time.
We use these sites to support a real estate team that has been around for more than 20 years and expects to be around for many more years to come.
