We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PostGIS Specialist to join our team as a consultant. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in OpenStreetMap, PostGIS, and tile servers using TM2 styles. We are using the OpenMapTiles stack so specific experience with OpenMapTiles is of course a plus.
In the first phase we need a sustainable process of keeping our PostGIS data up to date.
Later we are planning to improve our currently basic dataset by adding new sources and layers while still maintaining good performance.

Key tasks:
– Develop and implement a sustainable process for keeping our PostGIS data up-to-date.
– Enhance our current dataset by integrating new sources and layers while ensuring optimal performance.
– Create and maintain aesthetically pleasing and functional map styles using TM2 styles with CartoCSS.
– Collaborate with our team to troubleshoot issues and optimize our mapping projects.

Required Skills and Experience:
– Proven experience with PostGIS and OpenStreetMap, preferably in the OpenMapTiles stack.
– Expertise in managing tile servers, particularly with TM2 styles.
– Proficiency in CartoCSS for creating custom map styles.
– Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Strong understanding of database optimization and spatial data management.
– Prior experience in contributing to or managing large-scale mapping projects.
