Job Description: We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer to help build and customize our gaming matchmaking platform, PCGaming.gg. Our platform connects League of Legends players based on shared interests and geographical proximity, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community for gamers. We aim to develop a user-friendly, visually appealing, and highly functional website using a WordPress theme.

My goal with this company is to help PC gamers, specifically League of Legends players, find compatible gaming partners that have shared similar interests outside of gaming and that are also located near one another.  Currently, all gaming relationships are very fickle due to internal matchmaking systems only matching the gamers based on in-game variables.  I want to match people based on a lot of variables so that way they’re more likely to have a meaningful connection with one another.

Project Overview: PCGaming is designed to solve the challenge of finding compatible gaming partners by providing an intelligent matchmaking system and an exclusive community environment. Our goal is to enhance the gaming experience by connecting players with similar interests and creating a positive, supportive gaming community.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Theme Customization:
o Customize a selected WordPress theme to match the brand and functionality requirements of MyPCGamers.
o Ensure the website is responsive and optimized for both desktop and mobile devices.
2. User Registration and Onboarding:
o Implement a smooth and intuitive user registration and onboarding process, including social media integration.
o Create user profiles with customizable fields to capture interests, gaming preferences, and geographical location.
3. Matchmaking System:
o Develop and integrate a matchmaking system that pairs users based on shared interests and location.
o Allow users to filter and search for potential gaming partners using various criteria.
4. Community Features:
o Integrate a private Discord server for members, with automated role assignments based on membership level.
o Implement forums or discussion boards for community interaction.
5. Subscription Management:
o Set up and manage subscription plans (free trial, monthly, yearly, and lifetime memberships).
o Integrate a secure payment gateway for subscription processing.
6. Content Management:
o Enable easy content updates and management for blogs, announcements, and community news.
o Optimize the website for SEO to increase visibility and attract more users.
7. Analytics and Reporting:
o Implement tools to track user activity, engagement, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
o Provide regular reports on website performance and user behavior.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in WordPress theme customization and development.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with membership and subscription plugins (e.g., MemberPress, WooCommerce Memberships).
• Familiarity with Discord integration and API usage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work within set deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience with gaming or community-based websites.
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
• Experience with SEO best practices and tools.

Hourly Range: $15.00-$35.00
