Russian President Vladimir Putin received a grand red carpet welcome from his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Beijing on May 16. Putin was welcomed with an guard of honour as he got off his plane for the 2-day state visit. His motorcade was escorted by motorcyclists dressed in ceremonial white uniforms.
