U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell has said Israel is unlikely to achieve a “total victory” against Hamas, adding that the solution would have to be political. “Sometimes when we listen closely to Israeli leaders, they talk [mostly about] the idea of…a sweeping victory on the battlefield, total victory… I think we view that there has to be more of a political solution,” Campbell was quoted as saying by Reuters.
