We are seeking an experienced OJS and Research Platform Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Open Journal Systems (OJS), experience in developing and managing submission systems, and expertise in achieving indexation in renowned databases like Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science. This role involves overseeing the process of research submissions, ensuring quality checks, and suggesting technological improvements to enhance our platform’s effectiveness and user experience. We are also creating our own javascript based version and will need your assistance understanding the features of OJS that allow us to optimize our system.

Key Responsibilities:

OJS Expertise:

-Gain a comprehensive understanding of our current Open Journal Systems setup.

-Educate our team on OJS functionalities, formats it supports, and best practices.
-Advise on OJS customization and optimization to meet our specific needs.
– Advise our team of programmers on how to create key features of the OJS system from javascript

Submission System Development:

-Help the development of a bespoke submission system tailored to our requirements.
-Ensure the system is user-friendly, efficient, and integrates parallels the functionality of OJS.
-Provide training and support to staff for the effective use of the new system.

Indexation Achievement:

-Develop and implement strategies to achieve indexation in databases like Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science.
-Stay updated with the latest criteria and guidelines of these databases.
-Monitor and report on the progress of indexation efforts.

Research Submission Oversight:

-Manage the entire process of research submission, from initial receipt to final decision.
-Implement rigorous quality checks to ensure compliance with academic and ethical standards.
-Coordinate with editors, reviewers, and authors to facilitate smooth workflow.

Technology Enhancement Recommendations:

-Regularly evaluate the technological landscape of our platform.
-Suggest and help implement technology upgrades and innovative solutions to improve platform efficiency and user experience.
-Keep abreast of emerging trends in digital publishing and scholarly communication.

Qualifications:

-Proven experience with Open Journal Systems and scholarly publishing.
-Strong background in creating and managing digital submission systems.
-Experience in achieving indexation in databases like Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science.
-Excellent project management and communication skills.
-Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for technological innovations.

Hourly Range: $5.00-$20.00
