We need to design and functional requirements for the Product Tree feature on OpenUnited.com. You will be using Tailwind CSS  / Tailwind UI, and working in this repo: https://github.com/OpenUnited/ux-prototype

Before going further, please fork the UX Prototype repo, get it running and have a look at the existing screens. You need to be comfortable delivering your work via that repo in PRs.

The right candidate will like this mix of UI/UX work and also be comfortable delivering code that uses Tailwind.

Our objectives are:

– To establish a hierarchical structure for organising product areas, using the user-friendly and efficient approach of Productboard for example as inspiration. (see https://support.productboard.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057288994-3-Features-Capture-and-organize-your-feature-ideas)

– To enable easy navigation, creation, and management of product areas directly from the tree view, with detailed customization options available on individual product area pages.

– To enhance product development by facilitating the mapping of challenges to product areas.

Functional Requirements

Product Tree Creation and Navigation

–  Implement a "Product Tree" tab on the product homepage that leads users to a comprehensive tree view interface.
– Allow users to create a new product area from the tree view, providing prompts to add the first product area if none exist or to append new nodes beneath existing ones.
– Ensure the tree view displays product area titles, with functionality to expand/collapse nodes to reveal sub-areas, inspired by the simplicity of Productboard.
– Facilitate drag-and-drop functionality within the tree view for reordering or reparenting product areas, ensuring a user experience on par with Productboard.
– Include options to edit or remove product areas directly from the tree view, with changes immediately reflected within the interface similar to Productboard.

Hourly Range: $25.00-$50.00
