The goal of this phase is to provide a playable prototype/mockup to gauge out if the mechanics align with our expectations. We know full well that our visions change as our games evolve. Therefore, the phase 1 prototype needs to:
– Provide basic functionality to be tested.
– Implement saving/loading of all data necessary for recording player progress.
– Offer scalability in data structure and class architectures to allow for future development, e.g.:
— Leverage reference/editor linking instead of hard coding values
— Minimize use of Update() in favor of even Event/Delegate structure
— Utilize singleton architecture when appropriate
– Have well-documented code to allow collaboration with other members.
– Version controlled on one of our Git branches for the project (hosted on Github)
As the developer, you will be responsible for designing the class and data structures as well as implementing all components needed for this mockup. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of game development principles and be able to implement engaging gameplay mechanics and intuitive user interfaces.
Responsibilities include:
– Designing and developing interactive 2D games using Unity
– Implementing game mechanics, AI, and physics systems
Qualifications:
– Proficient in Unity game development
– Experience with 2D game design and development
– Strong programming skills in C#
– Good problem-solving and debugging abilities
